Library

The Library Department of East London Museum contributes enormously to information literacy by providing information in a variety of formats and levels of sophistication.

The library exists primarily for the East London Museum Staff with much emphasis on our professional staff / researchers. The general public, university students or school children may use the museum library when the public, university or school media centre is unable to provide them with the information they need. As this a specialized collection, members of the public may not have access to the shelves nor are they allowed to browse through library / archival material.

Times

The library is open to the public on:
Tuesday mornings;
Thursday (whole day);
Monday, Wednesday & Friday (in the afternoons).

Members of the public are strongly advised to make an appointment with the librarian before making use of the library. If no appointments are made, it will be up to the librarian to decide if it is convenient for a member of the public to make use of the library.
